QUEENS PODIATRIST Dispenses Foot Orthotics

If FOOT ORTHTICS ARE not covered by your insurance and you pay me for foot orthotics, they are not guaranteed to work . No podiatric treatment ever has any guarantee. You could possibly spend your money and lose your money. But there is always the chance that the orthotics could work favorably and improve your gait while you are wearing them. Let me repeat myself again: Orthotics are no different than in any other podiatric treatment. There are no guarantees. Please scroll down and see WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU NEED FOOT ORTHOTICS AND YOUR INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER FOOT ORTHOTICS.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU NEED FOOT ORTHOTICS AND YOUR INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER THIS DEVICE THAT IS CLASSIFIED AS A DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPTMENT DEVICE? Now if a patient has insurance, and is being treated for a plantar faciitis the office visit would be covered regarding the examination and treatments for the plantar faccitis which may include even oral medication .Part of my exam sometimes includes a static exam and a gait analysis. The problem arises is that foot orthotics are not covered by some insurance companies.Foot orthotics are a durable medical equiptment device that is generally not covered by some insurance companies.  Please understand that some of my patients have benefited from the use of felt I placed in their shoes to attempt to alter their gait. The felt was a lot cheaper than the orthotics, but was not as permanent a treatment. Felt is not as durable as suborthalon foot orthotics. Also felt is not custom made to fit the foot when the foot is attempted to be casted in it's "optimal position".
I tried orthotics labs and my favorite orthotics lab is STJ.  I PERSONALLY USE STJ ORTHOTICS LABS BECAUSE OF THE PERSONAL ATTENTION THEY GIVE REGARDING ANY QUESTIONS I HAVE. I ASKED THEM SO MANY QUESTIONS AND THEY HAVE BEEN VERY PATIENT WITH ME. I WANT WHAT IS BEST FOR MY PATIENTS AND THIS IS WHY I CHOOSE
AND I TRUST STJ ORTHOTICS LAB. Regarding any heel pain, I got some good results with the heel spur special. STJ ORTHOTICS LABS CAN BE REACHED AT 1 800 321-4785. Please understand that whenever there is any orthotic made, it is important to do a gait analysis and a static exam and to take an accurate cast and to communicate with the lab and to choose correct materials for the orthotic and correct shoes. Sometimes I even send the patients shoes and the foot orthotics so that STJ can attempt to get a more accurate orthotic fabricated. If I were a patient, I would probably ask my podiatrist about the lab that is fabricating my foot orthotics. As in any podiatric exam, diagnosis or treatment there are no guarantees.

I GENERALLY TELL MY PATIENTS TO NOT WEAR SHOES THAT ARE TOO TIGHT

I BELIEVE DIABETIC FOOT ULCER DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT IS A TEAM APPROACH

REFER WHEN NECESSARY

IF SOMEONE HAS POOR CIRCULATION IN THEIR FEET GENERALLY, I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD BE REFERRED TO A VASCULAR SPECIALIST. IF SOMEONE HAS SWOLLEN FEET, THEY SHOULD BE TOLD IF THEY ELEVATE THEIR FEET TOO HIGH, THIS COULD IMPAIR CIRCULATORY FLOW TO THIER FEET. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, DO NOT RELY ON ANY ADVICE FOR TREATMENT FROM THIS SITE. BE SEEN IN PERSON BY A PODIATRIST OR A MEDICAL DOCTOR THAT IS LICENSED TO TREAT THE FEET.

podiatry shoes

I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING ANY SHOE UNLESS A LICENSED HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL EXAMINES THE SHOE AND THE FOOT AND GIVES AN OPINION AS TO IF THE SHOE PROPPERLY FITS ON SOMEONES FOOT.

For some of my patients I have tried using an arch support as a temporary attempt to treat certain problems. Before any treatment is attempted I feel it is important to first see a podiatrist or other qualified licensed health care practitioner.
FIND OUT ABOUT ORHOTICS     A PODIATRIST CAN GENERALLY PERFORM A BIOMECHANICAL EXAM AND GAIT ANALYSIS AND PRESCRIBE A CUSTOM MOLDED FOOT ORTHOTIC. BY TAKING A CAST OF THE FOOT IN IT'S OPTIMUM POSITION AND PRESCRIBING THE PROPPER ORTHOTICS NEEDED IS AN ATTEMPT TO TRY TO TREAT VARIOUS FOOT PROBLEMS. THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES.  SOMETIMES ORTHOTICS CAN BE VERY BENEFICIAL WHEN PRESCRIBED AND CASTED BY A PODIATRIST. FOR EXAMPLE I USED AN ORTHOTIC THAT WAS CALLED THE STJ HEEL SPUR SPECIAL FOR HEEL PAIN AND WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. SOMETIMES ORTHOTICS DO NOT WORK.

I have to ask every podiatrist and other health care professional the following question: If there is a suspicious foot lesion why not biopsy it? I also have to ask one more question. Isn't it important  a podiatric specimen to be seen by a dermatopathologist? I only heard good things about Bako Pathology services and they were recommended to me by a podiatrist who was one of my teachers. I recently read a newsletter by Bako Pathology Services and I am interested in trying their services. Their telephone number is 877 376-7284.
